A Message from Chief of Police Alberto Gonzalez

 

The men and women of the Falfurrias Police Department are committed to providing the highest-quality service possible to make our community a better, safer place to live and work. There are 12 sworn officers who are dedicated to serve and assist you in any way possible. We serve a population of just over 5,292.00.

Our patrol area consists of approximately 19 square miles. I look forward to the future of this Department and City. I am very proud of the dedicated employees of this Department. I am excited about serving our community as your Chief of Police.

Chief Alberto Gonzalez began his career in Law Enforcement in June of 1985 as a Reserve Officer and jailer for the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office.  In January of 1993 Chief A. Gonzalez got his Peace Officer License from Del Mar College Regional Police Academy in Corpus Christi, Texas and became a Deputy with Brooks County Sheriff’s Office.  

In April of 1996 Chief A. Gonzalez became a Brooks County Constable Reserve Deputy for Pct. 4. In January 1997 Chief A. Gonzalez became a Brooks County Deputy with the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office. In November of 1999 Chief A. Gonzalez began his career with the Falfurrias Police Department as a patrol officer. Chief A. Gonzalez has served as Sergeant, Lieutenant, Assistant Chief  and currently serves as Chief of Police for the Falfurrias Police Department. Chief A. Gonzalez currently holds an Advanced Peace Officer certification from TECOLE and has over 21 years in Law Enforcement.


The Falfurrias Police Department serves the community by protecting citizens and property, preventing crime, enforcing laws, and maintaining order. Our department's main goal is to contribute to the quality of life in Falfurrias.

The Falfurrias Police Department is comprised of 14 sworn police officers, and 1 code enforcement officer that cover the residential and commercial areas around our city, including Interstate-69 and State Highway 285.

Supervisors

Sergeant Eliza Gonzalez

Sergeant Eliza Gonzalez began her career as a jailer with the Bexar County Central Texas Detention Facility in December of 2001. In December of 2004 Sgt. Eliza Gonzalez got her Texas Peace Officer License from San Antonio College. In March of 2005 she went to work for Shawano Park Police Department as a Police Officer.

In June of 2008 Sgt. Gonzalez went to work for Kirby Police Department as a Reserve Officer then as a fulltime police officer. In June of 2011 Sgt. Eliza Gonzalez went to work for the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office as a Reserve Officer. Sgt. Eliza then joined the Falfurrias Police department in August of 2012 as a patrol officer and then promoted to Sergeant, a position she currently holds. Sgt. Eliza Gonzalez currently holds an Intermediate Certification from TCOLE and has 6 years and 11 months of Law Enforcement.
